We share a passion for working with men to improve their mental health and well-being. We have both worked extensively with men in various services from the community to inpatient services, which is where we met and bonded over our shared interests. We drew on our own experiences, whether that be from Matthew's own experiences as a man or Kirsty's drive to empower her son to reach his full potential.

and just like that, Meet To Cope™ was born.

Men and mental health have a complicated relationship because of one hundred and one reasons, from pressure to be what society deems acceptable to being educated into fight mode and feeling shame or embarrassment when exposed to more difficult emotions.

We have found that when men have a space to reach out where they feel understood and empowered, the outcomes can be significant. As therapists, we find this space fulfilling for that reason. We also like an informal approach with a touch of banter thrown in which our clients always comment on being one of our strengths.

Please note we do not provide crisis support. If you are feeling suicidal and think you may take action to end your life or harm yourself please go to A&E or call 999. You can also contact your GP or local NHS mental health service for urgent support, or call the Samaritans on 116 123 for emotional support.
